my top 5 products to improve health + wellness
Here they are! My top 5 products I used EVERY day to promote my best health and wellness.
I feel like I could talker FOREVER about each of these products, that’s how passionate I am about each and every one of them. However, my promise to you is always to get straight to the point. Here is the abridged version of all the information I think is relevant for you to be adequately educated on each of these products.
Tongue Scraper
HOLY COW, friends, my life was changed when I tried it for myself. First of all, scraping all that nasty stuff off your tongue is totally gross, but also oddly satisfying! To think for years that gunk had been building up on my tongue contributing to bacteria growth and stinky breath. Tongue scraping is seriously one of the keys to clean oral hygiene and I’ve made it part of my nighttime routine (along with brushing, flossing, and rinsing). Good oral hygiene can prevent disease, diabetes, and other health issues. Did you know that tongue scraping can also enhance taste buds and improve your ability to taste things? Do yourself a favor and add this step into your daily routine to promote a better, healthier you!
Natural Deodorant
I’d like to point out the key word here is “natural.” Deodorant is one of those products that we use everyday, meaning that our bodies are exposed to the ingredients in deodorant every. single. day. And the ingredients in your deodorant are building up and being absorbed into you body. Here’s the hard truth, most antiperspirants you buy at your local grocery store contain harmful ingredients like fragrance that can severely disrupt your hormones and even worse contain aluminum! Aluminum is bad for so many reasons but most notably because of its ties to cancer. Friends, think about this, every day your body is absorbing those harmful chemicals that are affecting and limiting your ability to achieve your optimal health! There’s so much on this whole deodorant topic that I will probably write an entire post dedicated to it. As we say in the Navy, “BLUF” (bottom line up front), go buy yourself a natural deodorant like this one, and start living a healthier life!
Dry Brush
Out of these 5 products mentioned, this is the most recent addition to my daily routine. Dry brushing has definantly gained significant traction as of late, and I’m on board! After my first dry brush session, I was sold. The exfoliation, the circulation, the stimulation… I could go on but you get the point. I could feel my body responding positively to the motion of the dry brush. So far from my experience, dry brushing has helped with decreasing bloating, exfoliating my skin, stimulating blood flow, and overall feeling energized.
PRO TIP: Start with your extremities (arms and legs) and gently brush short strokes in the direction of your heart. Pay special attention to your lymph nodes around your arm pits, neck, and groin area. Immediately feel the results! Follow-up with some hydrating body oil to restore moisture to your skin.
Apple Cider Vinegar
Shout out to this bad a$$ momma friend of mine, Annie. She told me about her daily shots of apple cider vinegar. Here’s the short and sweet. Morning and night, I take a tablespoon shot of apple cider vinegar. It helps with gut absorption, which in turn fights bloating and helps you poo! This is one thing I will never stop doing. I’ve loved the results for the past year of using this method.
Foam Roller
Have you ever paid $10 for a massage? Yeah, me neither. That is until I purchased a foam roller. It’s like having your own personal masseuse at home. I specifically use the roller to stretch out my back. quads, calves, and gluts. Start near the joint and roll nice and slow putting optimal pressure on the muscle you are stretching while rolling the knots out. Your muscles will thank you, trust me. It’s incredibly important to add this step into your pre- and post-stretch workouts that involve weights. When you lift weights, your muscles are repairing those tiny tears in the muscles caused from weight lifting. This will cause your muscles to tighten, on your quads for example, and if you don’t stretch out that muscle you are probably going to experience some extreme soreness and even worse, chronic knee/joint pain.
Real Talk
After conducting a little research, I came to the conclusion that it will cost you less than $50 to purchase all of these products. I’d say that’s an investment worth spending considering 3/5 of these products don’t expire. By implementing these 5 small changes into your routine I truly believe you will start to see and fell real impacts in your overall health.
