best methods to reduce the appearance of stretch marks

The most important part of this post…

You are beautiful JUST THE WAY YOU ARE. (queue bruno mars song).

With that said, we all have that one area that we wish were a little bit better. in some way, shape, or form.

I totally get that. It’s OK for you to be confident in your own skin, AND also want to improve your appearance. This blog is all about becoming a better version of yourself, right? For me, it’s my booty. A combination of increased weight lifting over the years and the simple fact that my body is changing and becoming more woman-y, I’ve developed some pretty significant stretch marks on my butt. So i want to share with you what I’ve been doing for over a year and seen significant results. Here’s the juice.

3 products/methods i use to reduce stretch marks:

walnut booty scrub

Okay, first thing’s first, the booty scrub from Anese. Total life changer. The ultimate trifecta. Not only does it help reduce stretch marks on my booty, but it also makes my butt oh-so-smooth, clears acne, and reduces celulite!

It comes in a 2 fl oz. container which doesn’t seem like that much for $28, but i will tell you that a little goes a long way. For reference, I have to replace mine about every 3 months and that’s using it twice a week.

PRO TIP: I also use this scrub on my bikini line area to exfoliant and prevent ingrown hairs after waxing.

vitamin E

Next, is the oil. I started using this product after my ACL surgery. It helped significantly reduce the scars on my knee. Side bar, if you’re struggling with scar tissue pain, I’ve found that Mederma is best to treat pain/sensitivity and vitamin E oil is best to treat the appearance of the scar itself. There are also tons of supported evidence that vitamin E also helps with stretch marks from pregnancy. My 4 fl oz bottle lasted me about 1 year. I apply it to the stretch marks on my booty after my shower 2-3 times a week.

red light therapy

Finally, red light therapy. If you’ve never heard of this, then you’ve probably also never been to a tanning salon- because that’s where you’ll most likely have to go to access red light. Important note, red light is not UV light! You aren’t going to burn or tan from red light, but you will have to wear eye protection. Red light is a proven method to help fight acne, reduce scars, improve circulation, and boost mood. I’ve been using red light consecutively for the past 2 years and I attest to all that it claims to do.

Red light stimulates and promotes blood flow. Hard work out? Extract sore muscles? Stressful day? Need to decompress? Red light helps with that. More blood circulation = more healing. Depending on my schedule anywhere between 2-4 times a week I’ll use red light, 10 minutes per session, plug in my headphones, and listen to soft worship music while my body relaxes and heals. I highly recommend red light because it really does cover a lot of health benefit bases.
